Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using BillBeacon ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the App.

Description of Service

BillBeacon is a subscription tracking application that helps users identify and monitor recurring charges by connecting to their bank accounts through Plaid. The App provides:

Automatic detection of recurring payments
Subscription tracking and organization
Renewal reminders and notifications
Spending summaries and insights

Not Financial Advice

Important: BillBeacon is an informational tool only. The App does not provide financial, investment, tax, legal, or other professional advice.

Any information displayed in the App regarding your subscriptions, spending, or financial data is for informational purposes only. You should not make financial decisions based solely on information from BillBeacon. Always consult with qualified professionals for financial advice.

User Responsibilities

When using BillBeacon, you agree to:

Provide accurate information when connecting your bank account
Maintain the security of your device and access credentials
Use the App only for personal, non-commercial purposes
Not attempt to reverse engineer, modify, or exploit the App
Not use the App for any illegal or unauthorized purpose
Comply with all applicable laws and regulations

Third-Party Services

BillBeacon uses Plaid to connect to your bank accounts. By using BillBeacon, you also agree to Plaid's End User Privacy Policy.

We are not responsible for the practices or policies of third-party services.

Data Accuracy

While we strive to provide accurate subscription detection and tracking, we cannot guarantee that all recurring charges will be detected or that all displayed information is completely accurate. Subscription detection is based on transaction pattern analysis and may not capture all types of recurring payments.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

BillBeacon is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied
We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
We are not responsible for any missed payments, canceled subscriptions, or financial decisions made based on information in the App
Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the App in the past 12 months

Acceptable Use

You may not use BillBeacon to:

Violate any laws or regulations
Access accounts you do not own or have permission to access
Interfere with or disrupt the App or its servers
Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any systems
Collect or harvest data from other users
Use automated systems or bots to access the App

Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to BillBeacon at any time, with or without cause, with or without notice. You may stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it and disconnecting your bank accounts.

Intellectual Property

BillBeacon and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by BillBeacon and are protected by international copyright, trademark, patent, trade secret, and other intellectual property laws.

You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of our App or included software, nor may you reverse engineer or attempt to extract the source code of the App, unless laws prohibit these restrictions or you have our written permission.

Subscriptions & Payments

BillBeacon may offer premium features through paid subscriptions. If you purchase a subscription:

Payment will be charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase
Subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period
Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period
You can manage and cancel subscriptions in your App Store account settings
Any unused portion of a free trial will be forfeited when you purchase a subscription

Prices may change with notice. Continued use after a price change constitutes acceptance of the new price.

Dispute Resolution

Informal Resolution: Before filing a claim, you agree to try to resolve any dispute informally by contacting us at legal@billbeacon.app. We will try to resolve the dispute informally within 60 days.

Arbitration: If we cannot resolve a dispute informally, you and BillBeacon agree to resolve any claims through final and binding arbitration, except that you may assert claims in small claims court if your claims qualify.

Class Action Waiver: You agree to resolve disputes with us on an individual basis, and you waive your right to participate in a class action lawsuit or class-wide arbitration.

Changes to Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes through the App or by email. Your continued use of BillBeacon after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.

Severability

If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid or unenforceable by a court, the remaining provisions of these Terms will remain in effect. The invalid or unenforceable provision will be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it valid and enforceable.

Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and BillBeacon regarding your use of the App. These Terms supersede any prior agreements or communications between you and BillBeacon regarding the App.
