How We Protect Your Bank Credentials

Your bank login credentials are never shared with or stored by BillBeacon.

When you connect your bank, you log in directly through Plaid's secure interface. Plaid is a trusted financial data platform used by thousands of apps and banks, including Venmo, Coinbase, and many major financial institutions.

• Your username and password go directly to your bank through Plaid
• BillBeacon never sees, receives, or stores your login credentials
• We only receive an encrypted access token to fetch transaction data

What Data We Access

We access only the minimum data needed to detect subscriptions:

• Transaction data: Merchant names, amounts, and dates
• Account identifiers: For syncing purposes only

We do NOT access:

• Your bank account numbers
• Your routing numbers
• Your bank login credentials
• Your account balances (unless you explicitly grant access)
• Your full transaction history beyond what's needed for subscription detection

How We Secure Your Data

We use industry-standard security practices:

• Encryption in transit: All data is transmitted over HTTPS/TLS
• Encryption at rest: Access tokens are encrypted using Fernet/AES encryption
• Secure infrastructure: We use secure cloud providers with built-in security controls
• Minimal data retention: We only store what's necessary to provide the service

Your Control Over Your Data

You have full control over your data at all times:

• Disconnect anytime: Remove your bank connection from Settings at any time
• Delete your data: Request complete deletion of all your data
• Export your data: Download your subscription information
• View your data: See all the data we have about you in the app

What We Don't Do

• We do NOT sell your data to third parties
• We do NOT share your data with advertisers
• We do NOT use your data for marketing purposes
• We do NOT make changes to your bank accounts
• We do NOT cancel subscriptions on your behalf

Disconnecting Your Bank

To disconnect your bank account:

1. Open BillBeacon and go to Settings
2. Find your connected bank account
3. Tap "Disconnect" or the disconnect icon
4. Confirm the disconnection

When you disconnect, we immediately stop accessing new transaction data from that account.

Deleting Your Data

To request deletion of all your data:

• Email us at privacy@billbeacon.app
• Include your device identifier or account email
• We will delete all your data within 30 days
