Managing Subscriptions

Learn how to view, edit, and organize your subscriptions in BillBeacon.

Viewing Subscription Details

Tap any subscription to view its full details:

  • Cost: Current price and billing frequency
  • Next Renewal: When you'll be charged next
  • Price History: Track if the price has changed over time
  • Transaction History: See past charges for this subscription
  • Category: How the subscription is categorized

Setting Your Intent

Intent tracking helps you remember what you want to do with each subscription:

  • Keep: You value this subscription and want to continue paying for it
  • Cancel Soon: You plan to cancel before the next renewal—BillBeacon will remind you
  • Review Later: You're not sure yet and want to revisit this decision
  • Not Sure: You need more information before deciding

To set intent, tap a subscription and select your intent from the options shown.

Setting Price Alerts

Set a maximum price threshold to get notified if a subscription increases:

  1. Tap on a subscription to open details
  2. Find the "Max Price" or "Price Alert" option
  3. Enter the maximum amount you're willing to pay
  4. BillBeacon will alert you if the price exceeds this threshold

Household Tracking

Track who uses each subscription in your household:

  • Me: Only you use this subscription
  • Partner: Your partner primarily uses it
  • Kids: Used by children in the household
  • Family: Shared by the whole family
  • Shared: Shared with others outside your household

This helps you understand which subscriptions are shared versus personal when reviewing your spending.

Using Cancel Stack

Cancel Stack analyzes your subscriptions and suggests which ones you might want to cancel:

  • Access Cancel Stack from the main menu or dashboard
  • View subscriptions ranked by cancellation priority
  • See potential savings for each suggestion
  • Recommendations are based on cost, usage patterns, and your preferences

Editing Subscription Details

Sometimes you may need to edit a subscription's details:

  • Rename: Change the display name if the auto-detected name is unclear
  • Change Category: Recategorize the subscription
  • Add Notes: Add personal notes about the subscription
  • Mark as Not a Subscription: If something was incorrectly detected as recurring

Adding Subscriptions Manually

If a subscription wasn't automatically detected, you can add it manually:

  1. Tap the "+" or "Add Subscription" button
  2. Enter the subscription name
  3. Set the cost and billing frequency
  4. Set the renewal date
  5. Save the subscription

Deleting Subscriptions

To remove a subscription from your list:

  • Swipe left on a subscription in the list, or
  • Open the subscription details and tap "Delete" or the trash icon

Note: Deleting a subscription only removes it from BillBeacon. It does not cancel the actual subscription with the merchant.
