Getting Started

Step 1: Download the App

Download BillBeacon from the App Store on your iPhone or iPad. The app is free to download with optional premium features.

Step 2: Connect Your Bank

Tap "Connect Bank" and select your financial institution. We use Plaid, a secure service trusted by thousands of apps, to connect to your bank.

• Search for your bank by name
• Log in with your bank credentials (handled securely by Plaid)
• Select the accounts you want to track
• Authorize BillBeacon to access your transactions

Note: Your bank login credentials are never shared with or stored by BillBeacon. They are handled entirely by Plaid.

Step 3: Review Detected Subscriptions

BillBeacon will analyze your transaction history and automatically detect recurring charges. This usually takes just a few seconds.

Once complete, you'll see a list of all your detected subscriptions with:

• Subscription name and merchant
• Monthly or annual cost
• Next renewal date
• Price history and any recent changes

Step 4: Set Your Intent

For each subscription, you can set your intent:

• Keep: You want to keep this subscription
• Cancel Soon: You plan to cancel before the next renewal
• Review Later: You're not sure yet and want to decide later
• Not Sure: You need more information

BillBeacon will remind you to follow through on your decisions and alert you before renewals for subscriptions marked "Cancel Soon."

Step 5: Explore Features

Once you're set up, explore BillBeacon's features:

• Cancel Stack: Get smart recommendations on what to cancel
• Price Alerts: Set maximum price thresholds for subscriptions
• Household Tracking: Note who uses each subscription
• Insights: View spending trends and summaries
